Michael Jackson Plays Jade Goody’s Funeral

JADE Goody: Anorak’s at-a-glance look at Jade Goody’s post-reality career, with Michaele Jackson, without Jordan and Jack’s new pad…

Daily Star: “JACKO: I’LL BE AT JADE’S FUNERAL”

Michael Jackson is set to lead a host of mourners at Jade Goody’s funeral after promising her husband Jack Tweed he will be there. Thriller singer Michael, 50, is set to make lifelong Jacko fan Jade’s dreams come true by attending the service.

Shame Jade’s boys will be in Australia…

A source close to the 21-year-old widower said: “Michael has been very moved by Jade’s story. He has pledged to offer any support he can and he has promised to try and make it to the funeral on Saturday”…

Jacko was at Princess Diana’s funeral. Who else is at the big farewell do?

Guests including the Sugababes, Kerry Katona, 28, and TV’s Richard and Judy are just a few of the big names expected to attend.

Katona… She single? Just wondering, Jack, just wondering…

So that’s everyone there who matters; the whole OK! gang are assembled…

The Sun: “Jade Forgave Jordan but the family can’t”

OK! columnist Jordan barred?

JADE Goody’s furious loved ones are refusing to allow Jordan to attend her funeral — even though the tragic TV star forgave the glamour model for criticising her public cancer fight. But the Big Brother star’s family and friends have said she is not welcome — blasting the model’s “unbelievable hypocrisy”.

How so?

Jordan had openly talked to the media when she was diagnosed with a cancerous growth on the finger in 2002…

Her little finger, mind, the tip of which once housed Jordan’s talent…

The pal said: “A lot of people were offended by Jordan’s remarks, which showed unbelievable hypocrisy. But Jade had got to the stage where she knew anger and hatred were empty emotions that would get her nowhere. She didn’t want to row and, although she was hurt, she didn’t retaliate.”…

If Jade is Diana, and Max Clifford is Paul Burrell, then horse-loving Jordan is… Camilla!

And Jack?

Despite the row, Jade’s widower Jack Tweed, 21, put on a brave face yesterday playing football near his home in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.

Daily Star: “JACKIEY’S ANGUISH”

Sad Jackiey said: “I am being a husband and a mother at the moment because Jack is too weak.”

Back of the net!

The Sun: “Jack Tweed’s £350k flash pad”

JACK Tweed is buying a £350,000 luxury pad in a private estate alongside Premier League footballers and models, The Sun can reveal. The 21-year-old agreed the deal for the flat last Thursday, four days after his wife Jade Goody died of cancer.

With Jade busy, we’re watching Jack…

Spurs and England striker Jermain Defoe and glamour girl Danielle Lloyd will be among his new neighbours in the exclusive development — close to his mum’s home in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.

Single Danielle Lloyd…

It was reported Jade left Jack nothing in her will, but he has earned £140,000 from recent photoshoots. A pal said: “Jack’s done the deal. The mortgage is approved and he loves the flat.”

Daily Mirror: “Jade Goody set to be commemorated with statue near childhood home”

It’s an “exclusive” – see here.

Bob Skelly, chair of Bermondsey community council in South London, said: “The council has plans for the Dickens Estate area where Jade grew up, and I’m sure we could do something.”

A Circle of Tears?

Calcutta Telegraph: “Salute to brave Jade who never forgot to smile – Singer fondly remembers the ‘surprise’ Bigg Boss contestant, her Hindi lessons & fighting spirit – Voice of India Debojit Saha writes about Bigg Boss housemate Jade Goody”

When the news of the death of British celebrity Jade Goody came in a few days ago, I was pained… After a few days, I discovered that she was indeed quite different from the image she had. First of all, she was a very jolly girl, always smiling…

What did you learn from Jade?

The most interesting moments with her came when she tried to learn Hindi and Payal Rohatgi became her teacher. Jade did learn a few words and could say one sentence, “Mere do bachche hain (I have two children)”.

The Guardian: “Open door – The readers’ editor … on Marilyn, Jade and moving news values”

Correspondence from readers about the late Jade Goody’s appearance on the front page of the Guardian last Monday put me in mind of two letters published in the Observer, in July 1956, after the broadsheet newspaper had the temerity to put (gasp) a film star on its front page – something considered de trop half a century ago.

The first letter was from an objector: “Sir – was it really necessary for a paper of the standing of THE OBSERVER to devote a profile as well as nearly a column on the front page to a cinema actress? Yours etc. Grace Chapman, Old Windsor.”

A second letter, published a week later, was from a supporter, who wrote: “Sir – my incredulous astonishment at seeing Marilyn Monroe ‘profiled’ swiftly gave way to unalloyed delight that so august a journal could stoop so gracefully to conquer. Yours etc. Peter H Abrahams, N6.”
