SUSAN Bolye Watch – Anorak’s look at Britain’s Got Talent agonist Susan Boyle in the news. Today Susan is bigger than Obama and Tweet on celebs…

Heal The World

Tom Morris uses his Huffington Post column to say: “Susan Boyle Energizes the World.”

There is communal thinking on Twitter on a level and in a form I’ve never seen before. Almost every day, a topic comes up that causes me, as a philosopher, to ponder a bit, and then share the results of that pondering in the 140 character increments that Twitter allows. Today, someone mentioned Susan Boyle, the lady who has made such a stir worldwide with her recent appearance on the television show Britain’s Got Talent…

Keep in mind the 140 character format, if you’re not familiar with Twitter, and the need for a topic announcement with each offering, as every one of them has to stand on its own or be lost in the fast moving stream of Heraclitean tweets.

Susan Boyle: My definition of actualizing potential by allowing the energy of the universe to flow through you.

Susan Boyle: One small person amazing, inspiring, and energizing the world.

Susan Boyle: The Imponderable, Improbable, even Impossible Dream empowering us all to reach and achieve.

Susan Boyle: Her wondrous spirit washed over that hall in a flash, enveloping everyone, lifting them up, and filling their hearts.

Susan Boyle: One moment. One person. One act of open surrender to what’s truly possible.

Susan Boyle: The power to change a face. The power to melt a heart. The power to cover the earth with belief. From one small village.

Susan Boyle: The immense, incalculable power of inner vision, humility, persistence, and play.

Susan Boyle: Our living lesson that when life provides a stage, sing your heart out, and prepare to be blessed!

Ending with:

Who knew that Socratic Simon Cowell would be the midwife of all this?

The anti-Obama

At a time when the President of the United States feels compelled to use a teleprompter for even the most minor appearances, when Grecian columns are necessary props for campaign speeches, when public figures are as carefully packaged as your morning cereal boxes, after watching plain Susan Boyle sing with a voice for the ages, you feel like you have witnessed a real person do something that’s real. And right. And good. No, extraordinarily good.

She is, in effect, the anti-Obama. No artifice. No teleprompter. As likely to stumble over words, or do a spontaneous bump and grind as she is to belt out a song that could leave you with chill-bumps – William Tate, The American Thinker

Less is Demi Moore

Britain’s Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle has said she was overwhelmed to discover Hollywood star Demi Moore was among her growing army of fans – Sky News

Or as Boyle put it:

She had no idea who Ashton was and although she’d heard of Demi, she didn’t really know who she was. But now she is very grateful for their support”

Drew Breath

Drew Barrymore is cheering on real life “Never Been Kissed” Scottish singing sensation, Susan Boyle.

Drew herself, starred in “Never Been Kissed” a decade ago, playing bookish 30-something Josie Geller, who goes back to high school on a journalism assignment and eventually ends up falling in love and getting her first kiss.

After learning about Susan’s real life “Never Been Kissed” story from Access Hollywood while on the “Grey Gardens” red carpet in Los Angeles Thursday evening, Drew said she had high hopes for Susan’s first smooch.

When asked who Susan should kiss first, Drew said it was a decision that despite her movie pedigree, she wasn’t qualified to weigh in on.

“Well who am I – after [47] years of a life decision to tell her who she should kiss,” Drew said sweetly. “But I hope it’s a good one!” – Access Hollywood

To Old To Start Anew?

As baby boomers reach retirement age, instead of dusting off the old golf clubs and deciding which Hawaiian shirts to take to Florida, some are dusting off their resumes and deciding which suit to wear to their job interview.

In an article entitled “How old is too old to work?” Healthday suggests: “Pick up a new language, learn a new instrument…Give yourself a push to try something new.”

Blonde Ambition

Amid the frenzy yesterday, Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden made a plea for the 47-year-old churchgoer from Blackburn, West Lothian, to stay just the same.

Amanda, 38, vowed: “I won’t let Simon Cowell take her to his dentist and I certainly won’t let her near his hairdresser. She needs to stay exactly as she is because that’s the reason we love her.”

Keep the fright wig and Frump Suit on, Susan. Bide your time to reveal the real you beneath the act…

She just looks like anybody who could live on your street.

Just like the real Amanda Holden…

The minute we turn her into a glamourpuss is when it’s spoilt. That can perhaps come later when she’s signed the album deal and conquered America. For now we’ll keep her exactly as she is because that’s why we’ve all fallen in love with her. I think it’s the underdog thing. It’s somebody who’s looked after her mother all her life. She’s had real dreams, real aspirations and obviously she thought she’d had to say goodbye to those things.” Daily Mirror
