Naked Soul Wins Miss Saudi Arabia Beauty Contest

by | 7th, May 2009

miss-beautiful-moralsTO Saudi Arabia, where Sukaina al-Zayer is the epitome of feminine beauty. Draped in black robes and veil, Miss al-Zayer is “Miss Beautiful Morals“.

Mock as you will, but compare Miss al-Zayer with Carrie Prejean, the inflated blonde mo-del asked to explain her views on gay marriage and then brutally mocked and attacked before being championed by holier-than-thou religious fundamentalists. How’s that for freedom?

As it happens Miss al-Zayer has a 44FF chest  and plans to save the world from hunger and disease. But these virtues are besides the point. Says pageant founder Khadra al-Mubarak.

“The idea of the pageant is to measure the contestants’ commitment to Islamic morals… It’s an alternative to the calls for decadence in the other beauty contests that only take into account a woman’s body and looks. The winner won’t necessarily be pretty. We care about the beauty of the soul and the morals.”

And who better to judge the beauty of the soul than a jury of al-Zayer’s peers? And know that a beautiful soul should be aged between 15 and 25 and keen to win a soulful $2,600 cash.

Themes to consider include:

“Discovering your inner strength”
“The making of leaders”
“Mom, paradise is at your feet”

Pageant hopefuls will also spend a day at a country house with their mothers, where they will be observed by female judges and graded on how they interact with their mothers… Since the pageant is not televised and no men are involved, contestants can take off the veils and black figure-hiding abayas they always wear in public.

Which is great for lesbians.

So, Miss al-Zayer, what are your views on lesbianism?
