Motola The Elephant Gets An Extra False Leg
MOTOLA, a 48-year-old Thai elephant who stepped on a landmine 10 years ago, has been fitted for his false foot at an elephant hospital in Thailand.
Old Mr Anorak is a selfless bounty hunter and has generously handed over his summer umbrella stand for the good of elephant kind, and sheer novelty value. Now, when Motola sneezes, a First James Smith shooting stick fires from his nostrils.
Said an official with an advocacy group:
“I do hope she will accept the new leg. It would be wonderful to see Motola and Baby Mosha walking together side-by-side.”
Mosha is a 3-year-old elephant who became the world’s first elephant to get a prosthetic leg 2 years ago.
And it would be a thing of wonder to see the elephants walking on their new feet and legs. But why not fix an extra leg – diddle-diddle-diddle-dee– and make elephants expand their repertoire from pushing over logs and looking huge?
They’ll thank you in the end.
