Jaycee Lee Dugard Stars On Dr Phil’s Show, Beats Oprah

jayceedugardaged1JAYCEE Lee Dugard – Anorak’s look at Jaycee Dugard in the news: Because we can’t work out what to make of Jaycee Lee Dugard’s kidnapping, the media hires experts. Sometimes these expert are so expert they become the media’s caring voice, like Dr Phil McGraw, former Oprah Winfrey sofa jockey and now got-it-alone nodding head:

So, Dr Phil, how is Jaycee Dugard, who was kidnapped at 11, raped, imprisoned and made to give birth to at least two of her captor’s children?

She is going to go through a cauldron of emotions.”

And what about Starlite and Angel Garrido, Dr Phil, how they doin’?

“What happened to these children when they got to the age when this man abducted her?”

Well, they weren’t abducted. Any ideas what they did get up to, Dr Phil?

“What we don’t know is if they have been sexually molested.”

We don’t. But they might. Ok, they were. And crying at the party.

Let’s spread the fear in the media:

Bluefield Daily Telegraph: “Jaycee’s story sends messge to those who remain silent, By JALETTA ALBRIGHT DESMOND” [A Mum]:

The first morning of the new school year, I let my freshman daughter walk alone to the bus stop… The second morning, after some debate, I walked her half way until another student joined her. I did the same thing the third morning, but was considering using the cell phone periodically.

By the fourth morning, the image of 11-year-old Jaycee Dugard and her 18-year nightmare ended any debate with my daughter or in my own mind.

“We need to leave soon,” she said one morning earlier this week. No discussion. No argument. No question.

Lake County News Sun: “Parents put the brakes on bus stop moves

“We were accustomed and liked having our kids meet in smaller groups and having more stops — we were closer, we could actually see them,” Bousson said. “They are still little. Things can happen. There are crazy people out there,” she said, alluding to the recent headlines on the abduction of Jaycee Lee Dugard from a California school bus stop in 1991.

Denver Post: “Could a Phillip Garrido happen in Colorado?”

No. He’s in jail. But in Britain, there could be… And he might have changed his name.

Sacramento Bee: “Old-fashioned snooping freed Dugard and daughters
By MARY SANCHEZ”

An assortment of haphazard sheds, tents and tarps, shielded from prying eyes by a tall fence? No better invitation to investigate could have been extended to the kids of our block. We’d have been all over it, scaling the fence, peering through any crack we could find or create… It was our neighborhood. We felt entitled to swarm its every nook and cranny – yes, even if that meant trespassing.

If only…

Mercury News: “Nancy Garrido attorney has been receiving threats”

Gilbert Maines, who was appointed to represent Nancy Garrido, 55, has received numerous hostile messages and three actual threats, “which is three too many,” Maines’ litigation administrator said Thursday, speaking on the condition that her name not be printed.

People: “Shawn Hornbeck: Jaycee Dugard Brainwashed, in Shock”

Shawn Hornbeck, 18, who spent four years and three months living in the one-bedroom apartment of his abductor.

What Jaycee is going through now:
“She is in an absolute state of shock right now. Coming out of what she’s had to endure is like entering a new world. It’s like a door has opened for her and she’s emerged from a world that’s black and white into one that’s full of color. I remember when I got out. All I wanted to do is be with my family. I didn’t want to let them out of my sight. I was hungry just to be in their presence, starving for it.”

Jaycee Dugard-  let’s have a heated debate…
