jedward-simon-puppetsX FACTOR Watch: Anorak’s round-up of X Factor news – Jedward is huge shock vote scandal and Mariah Carey snubs Strictly Come Dancing to work with Simon Cowell…

The X Factor features on only one front page. Oh, how soon they forget.

Daily Star (front page): TWINS SHOCK”

The shock is there was NO shock. Jedward were not knocked out; Jedward were not the worst act; Jedward were better than Jamie Archer and the non-singing, non-dancing, non-twin Lloyd Daniels (he’ll be out next week).

The other shock is that the Daily Star’s Katie Begley manages to contradict herself on the space of just five lines:

JEDWARD sensationally survived the X Factor axe again last night and are on course to scoop the £1million record deal. John and Edward defied the odds to make it through to the next round after their army of fans voted in force for them.

So the favourites defied the odds and went through?

Mariah Carey Works With Simon Cowell:

As we told you, Mariah Carey and Simon Cowell are plotting world domination, or at least a range of celebrity-endorsed foods, drinks and more.

The Saturday night prime-time battle between Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor is heating up after pop star Mariah Carey dropped out of the BBC show but did attend a recording for its ITV rival – Yorkshire Post

Who’s worth more to her?

A BBC spokesman said: “We had hoped to have Mariah Carey on the show but her schedule changed and made it impossible.” – Telegraph

Not impossible:

Mariah Carey pulls plug on her Strictly performance (on Simon Cowell’s orders). She had been ‘provisionally booked’ to perform on Strictly but dropped out when X Factor supremo Simon Cowell told her representatives she could not be on both networks – Daily Mail

Not impossible, just pragmatic.
