by | 18th, November 2009

pier-jump-worthingKITE Surfers have found a new use for Britain’s seaside piers – jumping over them.

Kite surfers Jake Scrace, 25, and Lewis Crathern, 24, have jumped over Worthing pier.
Harnessing the 40mph gusts, the pair set sail from Goring to the west of Worthing. They then jumped the pier. Says Mr Scrace:

“It was probably the most terrifying thing I’ve ever built up to. We were practising down the road and we were pretty confident we were going to do it but as soon as we got nearer the pier it was quite hard.”

He calls it “terrifying”. Mr Crathern says it was “epic“. Adding: “It was everything I’ve lived for – amazing.

You can imagine those reviews appearing on the end of the pier show. Cancel Cannon and Ball, put a stop order on Lionel Blair and Chris Biggins and book the kite surfers. It’s the best use of pier since fire…Video:
