The Religious Climate Change Wave Protest, In Pictures

GREEN campaigners journey to London and Glasgow to demand “Climate Justice” and call on the government to push for a meaningful deal as they fly in for the UN climate change summit in Copenhagen. Environmental campaigners, aid agencies, trade unions and organisations including the Women’s Institute travel from across the country to take part in “The Wave” in London. They come on foot. They make the pilgrimage. And at their head is a religious leader muscling in on the throng, or just trying to keep warm. It’s the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams – head of the Church of England (keen investor in oil and mining firms; and house builder on farm land) – joining the Archbishop of Westminster The Most Reverend Vincent Nichols in donning a pair of blue rubber gloves as if they are about to frisk Gaia for concealed hurricanes and terrible plagues.
