Washington Woman Breaks Law For Noisy Sex, In Pictures

AT Newcastle Crown Court Caroline Cartwright, 48, pleads guilty to three counts of breaching the Asbo banning her from making loud noises – described as sounding like “murder” and “unnatural“.

Earlier, the court had heard from Cartwright’s neighbour Rachel O’Connor, who says was often late for work on account of being kept awake by Caroline and Steve Cartwright’s sex. As she says:

“The noise sounds like they are both in considerable pain. I cannot describe the noise. I have never ever heard anything like it.”

The Asbo banned the couple from “shouting, screaming or vocalisation at such a level as to be a statutory nuisance“.

Recorder Jeremy Freedman called it a “statutory nuisance…compounded by the duration – this was not a one-off, it went on for hours at a time. It is further compounded by the frequency of the episode, virtually every night.”

Sunderland City Council monitored the din – hear the live aural sex on 0800Mackam Scream. Sounds reached 47 decibels, thought to be the equivalent of listening to Katie Price walking on an oak floor or Al Gore smacking his chops at a good dinner.
