Workers At Octaveward Made Redundant Via Newspaper Comment Section?

by | 1st, March 2010

BAT E Bird alerts us to the story of workers at Octaveward, in Darwen being┬ámade redundant via newspaper comment section”. Says she:

I’ve been following this story since Friday.

* Darwen firm sends workers home due to bank account problem

It would seem the workers have been left in the dark as to what was going on. The LT reported problems with the company’s bank account and no further update has been published so nothing official has been announced – apart from in the comment section.

Is this the new way to find out you’ve been sacked and to air your grievances?

I know there’s always two sides etc. but the fact the workforce have been kept in the dark speaks volumes.

One of the comments mentions taking it to the national newspapers so I thought I’d give it a little airing on here.

Anroak says – on the bright side, at least the local newspaper remains relevant…
