Tony Hayward’s BP Sailing Trip Not Linked To Hampshire Oil Spill

ONE day after relocated BP boss Tony Hayward was seen on his yacht Bob at the Round Isle of Wight Race, an oil pipeline has sprung a leak in nearby Southampton Water.

Two miles (3.2km) of Hampshire coastline is coated in 20 barrels of vacuum gas oil spilled at Esso’s Fawley terminal on Sunday night.

Do not panic. An Esso spokesman says the oil is only a “potential carcinogen“.

And Tony Hawyard’s apparent, hunt for clean waters to load onto tankers and export to the Gulf of Mexico goes on…
