Kyron Horman: Tony Young And The Failed Police Plot To Entrap Terri Horman

by | 7th, July 2010

THE persecution of Terri Moulton Horman, the last person known to have seen Kyron Horman, continues.

Guilty? Innocent? Maybe. Maybe not. The fact is that the media and the police seem to be amplifying a whispering campaign against her. There is no evidence of any crime having befallen Kyron Horman. All we know for certain is that he is missing. Terri Horman has not been arrested. So. Why then the pressure on her?

Tony Young, Kyron’s step-father, is a police detective in Medford. The police and family are tight. Terri Horman has been ostracised by the family and singled out by the police. But she has not been arrested. She is not a named suspect.

The police are playing games.

ALL THE NEWS SO FAR

Let’s look at the claim she approached a landscaper to kill her husband Kaine Horman, Kyron’s father, seven months before the child vanished.

Oregon live delivers the headline:

Landscaper wore wire, asked Terri Horman for $10,000 in murder-for-hire plot, sources say

He asked her for money?

A landscaper who said Kyron Horman’s stepmother offered to pay him to kill her husband about six or seven months ago went back to on June 26 at the urging of police.

On his word the police arranged a sting on Terri Horman?

This time, he wore a body wire and was accompanied by an undercover officer. On the recorded conversation, he sought $10,000 from her, saying otherwise he would go to police with the murder-for-hire plot, sources said.

So. He attempted to blackmail her? When this story first broke, the allegation was that she had offered him $10,000. Now, the story goes that it he who asked for the cash, and not in exchange for death, rather in exchange for his silence over an alleged plot.

The story then went that she grew suspicious and revealed no details of her alleged intent to have Kaine Horman murdered. It turns out she shunned at the idea of being blackmailed over something we have one person’s word for.

Terri Horman apparently cut off the conversation fairly quickly, sources said.

She did not pay. She did not admit to any plot. She was spooked by the undercover copperand the gardener damanding money with menaces.

Authorities deemed the landscaper’s account credible and serious, and they shared it with Kyron’s father, Kaine Horman, the same afternoon of the undercover operation.

Did they tell him there was no proof, too?

The landscaper’s account prompted Kaine Horman to leave his wife and take their 19-month-old daughter. Within two days, he obtained a family law attorney and filed divorce papers and a petition for a restraining order against his wife.

Given that she allegedly was looking to have him killed, and that he had “hurt” her, and their child was missing, the divorce might be based on more factors than a gardener’s claim?

Investigators also shared the alleged murder-for-hire plot with Kyron’s mother, Desiree Young, and her husband, Medford police Detective Tony Young.

Why?

Within days, Kyron’s father, mother and stepfather publicly bonded and distanced themselves from Terri Horman. Desiree Young, before TV cameras, pleaded with Terri Horman to cooperate with police.

The police seem to be playing games, and using the media to do the dirty work. Would Terri Horman sue anyone who libels her?

Terri Horman last week retained a high-profile criminal defense attorney, Stephen Houze.

Looks like a sound move.

Tuesday, Desiree Young clarified that she, her husband and Kyron’s father all took polygraph exams in the case and were told they passed.

A polygraph is not evidence. And didn’t Terri Horman take two such tests? Were all tests taken at Medford police headquarters?

Terri Horman has taken two polygraph tests, after authorities said a key answer on the first exam found her deceptive.

Good that the police leaked that bit of information. But what does it prove, other than that the police are desperate for a confession?

Also Tuesday, Kyron’s mother issued a fresh appeal for the stepmother to cooperate with police. Desiree and Tony Young called a news conference at police headquarters in Medford.

Medford police headquarters – where Tony Young works. No suggestion and no proof that he is leaking news to the media and the fmaily. But this story is a shocker for anyone who thought good detective work was based on facts and evidence.
