Madeleine McCann And The Reappearance Of Amber Nicklas

by | 16th, July 2010

AMBER Nicklas is alive. She went missing in 2003. She was kidnapped by her three teenaged aunts from an eatery in LA. She was 13 months old. Amber Nicklas had been living with foster parents. Her real mother arranged to meet them and Amber at the fast food restaurant. Amber Nicklas was taken.

She has now been found.

Amber Nicklas cannot read. She has never been to school. But she is healthy. She speaks English and a little Romanian.

She was found living with a woman who said he had adopted the child. This was a lie.

In itself, this is an unexceptional case. But to the Telegraph’s Nick Allen, it is relevant to other cases. Not, not Kyron Horman. No, not Ben Needham. No, not any of those missing children. Says Allen:

The case also bears similarities to that of Jaycee Lee Dugard, who was snatched in Antioch, California in 1991 at the age of 11 and held captive in the back garden of her alleged abductor Phillip Garrido, a convicted sex offender, for 18 years.

Well, both children were stolen. One was taken by relatives. One was taken by a stranger. One was looked after. One was repeatedly raped.

Allen then tells readers that Gerry McCann and Kate McCann will take “hope” frim this case.

Madeleine McCann was three when she went missing in May 2007 while on holiday with her parents Kate and Gerry McCann in Portugal’s Algarve.

Her aunts were not there. She was not in foster care. She was not a baby. She has not been found. But she remains the benchmarck for all missing children…
