Runaway Northern Line Train Gives Misery Line Commuters Hope

by | 13th, August 2010

WERE you on the Northern Line as a train that raced through six stops on a thrilling 13-minute journey on London’s Tube on this Friday 13?

The other trains in its path were cleared out of the way as the jet-train from Archway to Warren Street did what passengers aboard the Misery Line dream of – it went fast?

The official version is that the train – an engineering train – became uncoupled as it was towed on the Northern Line near Archway station on Friday morning.

Much excitement on the High Barnet branch of the Northern Line. But can we expect more of this prototype wonder?

A Transport for London (TfL) spokesman says:

“A full investigation has been launched into this incident.”

Fingers crossed it can be done again. And if it can be done, why not make it go non stop from Golders Green to Goodge Street every morning at .say,. 8:23-ish..?
