X FACTOR 2010: More tabloid half-truths and nonsense as Dan Wootton, the NoTW hack who told us about Katie Waissel and Matt Cardle having “wild kissing” and “obvious” sexy times – a story the Sun says Matt says “desperate” Katie planted – takes to Twitter to say:

“All these claims today that Katie Waissel sold me the story about her and Matt Cardle being caught in bed are SO ridiculous. She didn’t!”

So. The Sun is wrong when it says Matt told her to “Stop making stuff up”; when a “source” at the show told the Sun: “…you can’t go making stuff up.” Such is the irony? Wootton adds:

“But, can I just stress, Matt and Katie DID snog and WERE caught in bed by a shocked production member.”

The effect of which is to create a non-story story that gets Katie Waissel onto the front pages? No publicity is bad publicity, right?  Is it a fix for her to win?

Here’s Simon Cowell on Katie Waissel:

“I think people appreciate the fact that she hasn’t moaned and groaned about the bad press. She has kept her chin up. She’s gone out there and still performed. She wore her heart on her sleeve last night. You couldn’t not be impressed by her performance, even if you didn’t like her.”

Adding:

“At the end of the day, people vote on what they see on the night. I mean if you look at Katie she has had some bad stories written about her.The only way you deal with it is come out and sing well. The public aren’t idiots. They will make the right decision.”

Fix?

Oh, and the Sun says Katie spent much of Sunday crying. She’s down in the dumps, say the Sun. Yep. Here are the latest photos of Katie beaming and looking happy with life:
