Rebecca Aylward: Mail Says Scans Might Have Killed Maesteg Girl ‘Bludgeoned To Death With A Brick’

by | 27th, October 2010

REBECCA Aylward, 15, of Maesteg, is dead. Police have arrested a 15-yeat-old boy for her murder.

Aylward’s body was found close to Sarn Hill, on the outskirts of the village of Aberkenfig on Sunday morning.

She had gone to visit an ex-boyfriend.

As for other facts, the Mail says she had been “bludgeoned to death with a brick”. The Sun adds that the girl was killed in a “jealous rage“, maybe. Reports suggest that she’d gone for a walk with two boys; something happened; one boy ran off and later told his parents what that thing was; that boy led police to Rebecca’s body.

There are few facts. And no fewer than four Mail writers – REBECCA CAMBER, LUKE SALKELD, CLAIRE ELLICOTT and SOPHIE FREEMAN – put their minds together to tell readers:

In recent months Rebecca had been having heart problems and had been undergoing scans and hospital tests.

Always good to have an open mind as to the cause of death when a woman has been “bludgeoned to daqth” with a brick.
