by | 8th, November 2010

WHEN Hayley Adamson was killed in Newcastle upon Tyne by a speeding police car driven by Pc John Dougal in May 2008, police called her a “scumbag”. Adamson was 16 when she died. Douglas was driving at 94mph in a 30mph zone. She as crossing the road. The car was doing 70 when it hit her. That was May 19, 2008. The police car had no sirens on. It had no flashing lights on.

Dougal claimed he was following another car, one he thought was stolen. Justice was served. Dougal was convicted of causing the death of the teenager by dangerous driving. He was sentenced to three years choky.

A tragedy for the girl and her friends and family. And not helped by dog handler Pc Julie Neve, who allegedly, called the dead girl a “Scotchy Scumbag”. Scotty is a take on Scotswood, near to where Hayley’s lived.

She has been disciplined by police. So too is Sgt Lynne McKevitt who is alleged to have “repeatedly tutted” in Newcastle Crown court whenever Hayley’s name was mentioned.
