Levi Bellfield: The Hunt For A Serial Killer In Photos
LEVI Bellfield murdered Amelie Delagrange, 22, and Marsha McDonnell, 19, in south-west London. He tried to murder Kate Sheedy, 18. He is accused of murdering Milly Dowler, 13. A jury were unable to reach verdicts that he kidnapped Anna-Maria Rennie, 17, and attempted to murder hairdresser Irma Dragoshi, 33.
The police captured him, eventually. But over a two year period before Amanda Dowler’s disappearance, police received – get this – over 90 messages naming Bellfield for alleged indecent assaults, physical attacks and obscene phone calls. But he was not arrested until he had murder two women.
Miss Sheedy said:
“In the first week the police told my parents they had got the CCTV but then we had our hopes dashed when they came back and said ‘sorry there’s nothing on it’.”
Only, the CCTV footage contained a clear image of Bellfield’s car at the scene.
Good police work caught the killer. But chances were missed…
