Daily Mail Says Pained Disabled Woman With Cardboard Ricky Gervais Is Luckier Than Kate Middleton

by | 28th, June 2011

WHO is Britain’s luckiest woman?

Kate Middleton – a humble millionaire’s daughter who married a dashing prince?

Sue Barker – friend of Sir Cliff, whose sunny smile and cheerful disposition bring joy to rain-sodden Wimbledon and lift the nation’s spirits?

Or is it – as the Daily Mail suggests – a 51-year-old former bank employee called…Liz Denial?

“Lucky Liz”, we are told, “suffers from a painful muscle condition and relies on a mobility car to get around“.

Doesn’t sound particularly lucky she? But this is the Daily Mail, remember, so let’s think again. Does she receives £200k a year disability benefit? Has she pimped her mobility ride with gold plated hubcaps at the taxpayers’ expense?

Nope. Turns out that her luckiness takes the form of winning competitions at an astonishing rate of one a day. Prizes range from fifteen grand on Deal or No Deal to a giant cardboard cut-out of Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington.

Then there was a trip to Kenya, during which she bumped into Dermot O’Leary and Olly Murs, who were taking part in a Red Nose Day climb of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Hmm. Not so lucky perhaps. Flash-floods in Blighty suddenly don’t seem so bad after all.
