It was the day in which the country’s current crop of elite fighters marked the 81th anniversary of their creation by marching up and down while looking tough and steely jawed – and ex-paras dressed in hot pants, and Jean Paul Gaultier’s 1990s cast offs while eating watermelon which seems to have been laced with 100% proof meths.
