How Newspaper Photographers Hunt Out Photogenic Blondes At A And O Level Results Time

by | 3rd, August 2011

YOU know it’s O and A level results time because  the media is full of photos of photogenic blonde girls jumping for joy.

The FT reports that shaggable and fit are picked out by the school to make them look good. Chris Cook reports:

“Last year, I received an unsolicited voicemail from the press liaison at Badminton School in Bristol…’wanting to give …some details of some absolutely beyootiful girls we’ve got here who are getting their A-level results tomorrow’…”

And:

“Bedales School in Hampshire… supplies photos…”

And:

“Most alarmingly, another (very grand) private school invited the FT… to an end-of-year sports event [and] said that watching the girls playing sports would have given …a unique opportunity to pick out promising candidates for A-level day pictures.”

Nice stuff. And nothing unusual in it. Anorak has recently returned from Spain where a friend’s child only made it into the fancy school’s prospectus because the photographer appeared on the one day she was without her glasses…
