‘Disabled’ Benefits Cheat Mohamed Bouzalim Jailed For Wedding Dance: There Is No Greater Crime

MOHAMED Bouzalim, 37, told the benefits office he was bed-ridden and unable to move. He was later filmed dancing at a wedding.

At Isleworth Crown Court, Bouzalim – a Moroccan who claimed to be an Afghani tortured by the Taliban – was jailed for seven years for 11 counts of deception, fraud and assisting illegal entry into the UK. In all, his lie scooped him £400,000. In one year alone, he earned £66,000 a year tax free and studied for a PhD at London’s School of Oriental and African Studies. To compound the crimes, he owned a property in Leyton, which he rented out for £1,200 a month. Having entered the UK in 2001, in 2009 he was given British citizenship.

When police raided the two bedroom council flat in Kilburn he been given – the one fitted to enable wheelchair access – they found a video of him dancing at his wedding in Morocco in 2009.

Bouzalim also owned a property in Leyton, east London, which he rented out for £1,200 a month.

All in all, it’s an impressive fraud. And had it not been for that wedding dance he might have gotten away with it. Would a true British gentleman dance at his or any other wedding, or would he hug the bar and point to an old sports injury? Bouzalim’s greatest error was a failure to embrace British culture.

Send the man down…and deport him at your leisure.
