Nephew blames Sylvester Stallone for son’s death – Edd Filiti gets famous
SYLVESTER Stallone’s son, Sage, was found dead in his LA home over the weekend and, like the death of anyone young, it’s thoroughly depressing. However, when it concerns a famous person, there’s a whole spectacle to be had where the entire extended family gets dragged in for the media rodeo.
And the latest bit of unfortunate news is that Sly’s nephew has lashed out at the actor, saying that the Hollywood star neglected his late son who desperately wanted his dad’s love. Eighteen-year-old Edd Filiti – the son of Stallone’s half-sister Toni Ann – said his cousin wanted his father’s affection, in a series of angry Facebook postings.
This comes on the back of a news report that states Sage Stallone called his dad on the famed actor’s birthday on July 6th, but Stallone didn’t call back.
“What did he do wrong, say happy birthday,” Filiti said in a Facebook post that has since been removed, according to the Web site Celebuzz. “Neither you [Stallone’s wife Jennifer Flavin] or he could return a phone call, which is all he wanted, his father. I know you don’t care what happened, but you’ll care when your [sic] squirming under the burning magnifying glass of public opinion,” he wrote.
So far, so gruesome. However, what many reports have missed is the fallout. Filiti later said that he regretted putting his feelings on Facebook.
“I made a mistake. It is a very emotional time and I vented my feelings. I was feeling raw and emotional and I never meant for my feeling to become public. I took the post down minutes later. I never meant to insult my uncle. I have my own issues with him, but that should never be said on Facebook. I want to recant my words”
An autopsy was completed on Sunday and toxicology test results expected in a few weeks.
