Madeleine McCann spotted in Washington and torture gang leader’s book

by | 18th, July 2012

AS the schools break up and the sun threatens to shine on holiday heads, the media tuns to stories os sharks in your tap water and Madeleine McCann. the innocent child is not longer the subject of a voracious feeding frenzy but she is the benchmark in missing children and stories editors can tap into to reach the readers’ feelings.

From KREM news comes the amazing headline: “MADELEINE MCCANN SEEN.”

The story in full tells us:

Madeleine McCann went missing in May of 2007 and now she has been seen in Grand Coulee Dam, WA on July 11 2012 at Harvest foods wearing a pink butterfly dress, pink strap on high heels, and a flower hair clip with a butterfly on it, and with a man about the age of 43-48 wearing a blue sweatshirt, jeans and brown sandals.

And that;s it. No name of the spotter. No police report. Just news that they missing child has been sighted in Washington. Was the man approached? Dunno. Did the spotter yell “Madeleine” or “STOP! KIDNAPPER!” Dunno.

the other instalment comes via the Sun, which announces:

Cops took my girl’s clothes to see if they were Maddie’s

We are told:

TORTURE gang leader Steven Johnson had his daughter’s clothes seized by police — after fearing they could belong to missing Madeleine McCann.

Eh? She went missing wearing her pink pyjamas. Was Johnson’s daughter wearing pink pyjamas?

The monster — caged for 25 years for the savage attack on James Ross — was quizzed by cops investigating the little girl’s disappearance following his arrest in Portugal…

The dramatic details can now be revealed after Johnson was jailed for the sickening torture attack on abduction victim James, 28, from Wick, Caithness.

Johnson’s mother Helen tells the tabloid:

“When they arrested John [Johnson] they said it was kidnap and threw in about the little girl as well. They went and took his baby Elizabeth’s clothes — she was 18 months old — and analysed them. They said it was because the James Ross case was kidnap, a similar crime.”

18 months… Is she big for her age?

Violent Johnson revealed how police had quizzed him about Maddie, who disappeared in the Algarve aged three in 2007, in a letter he sent from prison.

Does he make the best witness?

In the badly-written note, he said: “If the police have any proof, it’s been falsified. I can’t prove my innocence without the help of the police and they won’t give me help to prove I didn’t do anything, they just want to convict us to make up for their incompetence in the Madeleine McCann case. The police told me they would charge me with her disappearance and make it stick.”

Only, this is the first we’ve heard of it. Johnson has bender been arrested nor charged with any crime in connection with the vanishing of Madeleine McCann. Why would he tell his mum that he was in the frame. Why would she tell the world?

A court in Loule found the brute, of Radcliffe, Manchester, guilty of attempted murder, kidnap, GBH and drug trafficking.

But no child offences.

Victim James suffered a 13-day ordeal after being abducted at Faro airport in October 2010.

James is not a toddler. James is a dad-of-two. His captors sliced off his ear, two fingers and three toes.

And then this:

Last night Johnson’s mum Helen revealed her son planned to write a book about his brutal crimes. She added: “Maybe when I read it I’ll finally find out the details.”

Ask yourself not what you can do for Madeliene McCann but what Our Maddie can do for you…
