Birmingham’s nativity Jesus replaced with Garden gnome

WHO stole the Baby Jesus from the display on Birmingham’s Chamberlain Square? They then replaced Baby Jesus with a garden gnome.

The Baby Jesus was installed by Birmingham City Council at the Frankfurt Christmas Market. The council spokesman says:

“Someone has tampered with the nativity scene and we are trying to find out how it happened.”

A local offers the Birmingham Mail:

“I think it’s disgraceful. We are told we need to be considerate of every faith but that’s not showing any consideration for the Christian faith. My son’s in a reception class at school and I’m trying to teach him the right things – and there’s Jesus Christ represented as a garden gnome. It’s offensive and everyone around me who saw it thought the same.”

Why someone so offended should chooses not to be named seems odd. But the onlooker should be happy to note that just like the Baby Jesus, the gnome was made in China…

The best nativity scenes ever.
