Teacher sacked for saving all the children’s lives

A DAYCARE teacher has been sacked from her job after putting out a fire, potentially saving everyone’s lives. That’s lousy isn’t it?

Michelle Hammack smelled smoke coming from the kitchen of Little Temples Childcare in Jacksonville, when she left her classroom of sleeping children to find out what was going on.

She told Action News Jax:

“I just leaned over and peeked around, and there was a fire in the oven. I ran in there and opened it to try to put it out, and the fire alarm started going off.”

Hammack went back to her class to make sure everything was okay, woke the kiddiewinks up, guided them outside, before going back in and successfully extinguishing the fire.

She wasn’t given a pay rise or a medal. Her boss Olga Rozhaov, refused all praise and decided that the best thing to do would be to sack her.

Rozhaov stated:

“I fired her only because she left her room. Even though children are sleeping, the teachers are supposed to be there.

“It’s not acceptable, and if anybody else does the same thing, I will fire again. I will fire them. No question.”

The Department of Children and Families is reportedly investigating the incident and all Jacksonville teachers are, in future, advised to let children die in an inferno instead.
