Doreen Lawrence’s Rise From Grieving Mother To Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon in Photos

DOREEN Lawrence, the mother of murdered black teenager Stephen Lawrence, was flanked by her supporters, Labour former minister Lord Boateng and Liberal Democrat television presenter Baroness Benjamin, during the short ceremony where she took her seat in the House of Lords. Mrs Lawrence dressed in ermine and swore allegiance to the Queen in the short ceremony that marks the introduction of new peers. She will sit as a Labour member of the Upper House using the title Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon.
