CARLOS VELA reckons he is ready for a return to the Premier League after a spell with Spanish side Real Sociedad.

The striker, who scored 11 goals in 64 appearances for the Gunners, has reportedly told friends he has received an “irrisistable” offer to join Diego Simeone’s Champions League runners-up.

The Gunners want to activate a buy-back clause they inserted into the transfer of Vela to Real Sociedad in 2012… However, Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay revealed yesterday that the player wants to stay in Spain. He said: “We are fortunate that the player is keen to stay in San Sebastian with us and that’s an important factor for Real Sociedad.”

Arsenal were mulling over whether to activate the buy-back clause they held in the £2.5m deal which took Vela to Sociedad in 2012.
The option would enable Arsenal to re-sign Vela for a scant £3.5m, while other interested clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid could only secure the Mexican forward if they activated his £30m release clause.
£30million!
But according to reports in Spain, Sociedad have struck a deal which will see Arsenal sever all ties with the 25-year-old.
Arsenal will pocket £8m in relinquishing their buy-back clause..
So. Vela hasn’t gone anywhere yet.
