Male Heart Patient, 60, Sues Hosptial For Sexual Assault By 33-Year-old Female Nurse
TO Chicago, where 33-year-old registered nurse Rachel Shaper has been sacked for allegedly assailing 60-year-old patient John Cantone with “initiated unsolicited sexual relations, including intercourse”.
Shaper was sacked for “crossing professional boundaries with a patient.”
Cantone, a patient at Chicagoland’s Advocate Christ Medical Center, “asserts [medical facility] officials knew that Shaper had a tendency to engage in unauthorized activities with patients in her care but had failed to supervise or terminate her employment.”
Shaper, he argues, has “a propensity to initiate unauthorized physical contact with patients”.
But only one name is on the allegation. Only Cantone has spoken out.
The Smoking Gun says that in October 2012 heart transplant patient Cantone was in his hospital bed. At 9 PM. Shaper entered the hospital room. And then…
Well, whatever happned, Cantone hopes it’s worth $200,000 in damages.
If the alleged victim were a woman and the assailant man, would we think of it differently?
