Green Shirts: Jeremy Corbyn says you’re the human virus
Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn most likely picked a political party because he’d not be any good at party based on joy and a celebration of the human spirit.
“Humans represent the most obscene, perverted, cruel, uncivilised and lethal species ever to inhabit the planet and [we look] forward to the day when the inevitable asteroid slams into the earth and wipes them out, thus giving nature the opportunity to start again”
Former environment minister Michael Meacher once agreed:
“The lesson is that if we continue with activities which destroy our environment and undermine the conditions for our own survival, we are the virus.”
And Joanna Lumley:
“If three billion’s going to become nine billion, that’s wrong. So we’ve become a plague.”
TV’s Voice of God David Attenborough:
“We are a plague on the Earth. It’s coming home to roost over the next 50 years or so. It’s not just climate change; it’s sheer space, places to grow food for this enormous horde. Either we limit our population growth or the natural world will do it for us, and the natural world is doing it for us right now.”
