Transfer balls: Liverpool and Martin Odegaard in BBC clickbait scoop

Transfer balls: Liverpool and West Ham are looking to sign Martin Odegaard. Well, so says the BBC.

Martin Odegaard

The BBC adds:

“Liverpool could sign 17-year-old Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard but West Ham are also interested in the Norwegian”

The Telegraph piles in.

Liverpool transfer news and rumours: “Real Madrid to make decision on Martin Odegaard in 48 hours” with Jurgen Klopp in pole position to take 17-year-old on loan

The paper cites a source “close to Real Madrid” who spoke with Ouest France:

“There are a dozen offers on the table, including of a club from Liga, plus the English from West Ham and Liverpool, German clubs (Leverkusen, Hamburg) and Ajax Amsterdam. In recent hours, Stade Rennais showed up and are well positioned. Initially, Martin preferred Germany, but Zidane will choose…”

How does that translate to Liverpool being in pole position to take the teenager? The Telegraph is talking balls. Indeed, the Mirror reports: “Liverpool dealt blow as Martin Odegaard nears Rennes loan switch.”

The BBC is state funded. Why it opts for clickbait is lamentable.
