‘DID you know there are now more than 2,500 government websites in operation? Of course you did.

Your bookmarks section is full of the web addresses like CherieShoppingTips.com, SeeLeoGrow.co.uk and Tony&CliffSingKylie.gov.

But not everyone is so enthusiastic. The Guardian reports that not all Government sites are that popular. For instance, the UK World Heritage site seduced just 77 visitors last year.

“Some of the visitor figures to the websites are frankly an embarrassment to the government,’ says Sarah Teather, the pocket-sized Liberal Democrat MP who has tabled a series of parliamentary questions on the subject.

So log on and see what the Government is doing for you, and spending your cash on.

And remember – they’re watching you…’
