Madeleine McCann: Portuguese Police Confess, ‘Madeleine’ Found And Baby Grace
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “MADDY COPS ADMIT BUNGLE”
Page5: “WE MUCKED UP – Cops reveals shambles of Maddy crime scene.” Two uniformed Guarda Nacional officers claim their superiors “mucked up big”.
One tells the Mirror: “When we arrived it was chaos. Everyone had walked through that place. I lifted my arms, rolled my eyes and put my head down and just got on with it… To find a circus walking in and out of a possible crime scene – well, it was ridiculous…We mucked up big time”
Says another officer: “This case has no end. It’ll get field away with an open verdict. The parents will be suspects for ever. That’s justice for you”
The Mirror does not name either officer. This is due to “Portugal’s strict secrecy laws” – the same laws the prevent police leaks to the media
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “Why we suspected McCanns and their friends from the start by Portuguese police”
Page 9: “McCanns and friends ‘jumpy and nervous’” – Two men from the Guarda Nacional are speaking to the press. Says Officer A: “Something wasn’t right. They were upset, panicking, wide-eyed – all the usual responses. But there was something else”
What? The worry that the possible crime scene had been disturbed and not sealed off properly?
“They were scared, and not just the usual scared. They were jumpy and nervous. I don’t know, it wasn’t normal”
Well, it’s not very normal situation, even in Portugal
Says Officer B: “They were hard to get any sense out of. A good scare sobers anyone up.” And the McCanns had been drinking
And of the crime scene? Say Officer A: “They’d paraded half of Luz through there even before they’d called us” – a call the officers say came 40 minutes after the McCanns discovered Madeleine gone
“Mafia threats for woman who ‘spotted’ Madeleine” – Naoual Malhi says she saw Madeleine. She claims a man told her: “Let this lie if you know what’s good for you, your daughter and the rest of your family.” Says she: “I’m not frightened by the Mafia”
DAILY MAIL page 19: “Police ‘looked on a Madeleine crime scene was trampled’”
The two officers have 35 years experience between them
“’DEATH THREATS’ FOR WITNESS” – Naoual Malhi says: “I know the girl I saw getting into that taxi was her and I’m not going to stop until I find her”
Says Chakib Benmoussa, Morocco’s interior minister: “We have no new evidence suggesting such a presence in Morocco”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE DEATH THREAT TERROR – “Shock new development in hunt”
Page 7: “MADDIE PARENTS WERE STRANGE & JUMPY SAY COPS”
Says Officer A: “The mother say she knew straight away the girl had been taken, so why wait 40 minutes to call us”
“Witness death threat” – Naoual Malhi is in the papers. Says she: “They warned me I’m going to be killed next time I step on Moroccan soil unless I shut up about Madeleine”
THE SUN page 15: “MADDIE COPS: WE LOST IT IN 1ST HOUR”
Say the two policemen of the crime scene: “Civilians – family, friends, neighbours, staff, people off the street – everyone was in and out of the bedroom to check under the bed. The damage had been done”
THE TIMES page 4: “Girls seen in Morocco is not Madeleine”
Abdelmajid Chadili, the head of Morocco’s judicial police, says: “In the case of Fnideq, we did find a small blonde girl. We found she was among her true parents and I can tell you she only speaks Arabic”
Naoual Malhi saw ‘Madeleine in this town
Mr Chadili goes on: “In a far away country, some people think it’s not possible that a small blonde girl can be Moroccan. But it’s true, we have children with blonde hair”
IN AMERICA (The Daily News, Texas): “Investigators haven’t formally ruled out the possibility that Baby Grace is Madeline McCann, the 4-year-old British girl who went missing from her parent’s Portuguese hotel room in May”
DAILY TELEGRAPH, THE INDEPENDENT and THE GUARDIAN: No Madeleine news today

The Real Stig Says:
Hideki wrote:“This ties in with my posting in that I have emphasized how little has been shown about Madeleine’s medical history. Why won’t the McCanns make that entire medical history public? That would clear up all sorts of questions about autism rumours, developmental problems, etc. And it would be pertinent to know who the last non-McCann doctors were who examined her.”
Stig replied: “What makes you think the McCanns should divulge personal and private details of their children just to satisfy the impertinent and nosy speculation of people on an internet forum?”
That is not why I think they should make Madeleine’s medical history public — stop putting words in my mouth. Actually, it is the McCanns who brought the medical history issue up by emphasizing her coloboma (while not mentioning her “heterochromia iridis”, which is also observable from photos).
“You are as bad as Stevo, who wants their financial details and private holiday photos all made public, just to satisfy his intrusive curiosity.”
Again, you are putting words in other posters’ mouths — it’s a bad habit, Stig– do try to break it. Stevo does not want them made public for that reason. He has given plenty of other reasons. One quick reason I will give you is that the McCanns themselves formed a private company to solicit donations for the purpose of finding their daughter, who they already knew was dead.
“I think the coloboma is missing from that earlier photo because it was touched up to remove it, like people do to remove red-eye in flash photos.”
You think?! LOL — That’s groundless speculation, Stig. What proof do you have that the photo was touched up? Was the heterochromia touched up too, eh? Without the medical history, you won’t know whether or not the heterochromia formed in the interim between photos with and without it. Heterochromia, by the way indicates a spinal problems that are also visible in a couple of the photos — as you can see in the link below, spinal problems are also associated with coloboma.
Anyway, it’s very ironic to see you agreeing with Steve that the McCanns have ALTERED photographs which they presented to the public for identification of Madeleleine. Why did they present altered photos, Stig? And thanks for providing another reason that Stevo and others are correct in demanding that the McCanns provide many more photos of Madeleine — have they all been touched up?

Some children with coloboma may have other developmental problems. Medical staff will be able to advise and offer support services in these cases.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat-eye_syndrome
The most common association of symptoms include coloboma of the iris, renal abnormalities, and imperforate anus. Life expectancy is not significantly reduced in those patients who do not present with life threatening abnormalities.
Characteristics
Anal atresia (abnormal obstruction of the anus)
Unilateral or bilateral iris coloboma (absence of tissue from the colored part of the eyes)
Palpebral fissures (downward slanting openings between the upper and lower eyelids)
Preauricular pits/tags (small depressions/growths of skin on the outer ears)
Cardiac defects
Kidney problems (missing, extra, or underdeveloped kidneys)
Short stature
Scoliosis/Skeletal problems
Mental retardation — although most are borderline normal to mildly retarded, and a few even have normal intelligence, CES patients occasionally exhibit moderate to severe retardation.
Micrognathia (smaller jaw)
Hernias
Cleft palate
Rarer malformations can affect almost any organ

i feel bad for the mccanns
but i dont think it was responsible of them to have left their children alone in a hotel room , certainly at such a young age.
but then again its not theyre fault theyre daughter got taken away.
but i really wonder why someone would do something like that, taking a kid away like that, thats just horrible and traumatizing, not only for the parents, but most importanly the kid.

What makes you think the McCanns should divulge personal and private details of their children just to satisfy the impertinent and nosy speculation of people on an internet forum? Do you have children? Would you care to supply your childrens entire medical history just because I say you should?

No Worries. I posted that a couple days ago as part of my Blonde Connection post. I just put that together for fun, but also the semi serious bits.
I shall have to dig out some of the family silver to appease Pitty. On second thoughts I might just nip down to a jewelers and buy a pair of nice big silver hoop earrings, or perhaps a silver backed hair brush? No point ruining a perfectly good Georgian silver spoon.

ALEXIS Says:
“Lilith,I haven’t met you before and Im confused. Are you serious or are you a McCann supporter, satirising the sometimes …unusual..arguments of Hideki?”
If you took the trouble to read the previous related posts, you would not be so confused. I suggest you pay attention to Peter O’s thoughtful response (922).
“If it is the former, well your ideas are a little …unusual/imaginative…”
Yes, but Lilith’s OBSERVATIONS are not imaginative. She has noticed that the eye condition DOES NOT APPEAR in earlier photos of Madeleine, even when zooming in. Other presented photos do not show that eye.
This ties in with my posting in that I have emphasized how little has been shown about Madeleine’s medical history. Why won’t the McCanns make that entire medical history public? That would clear up all sorts of questions about autism rumours, developmental problems, etc. And it would be pertinent to know who the last non-McCann doctors were who examined her.

dora Says:
“I always come to this site for a laugh. Just when you think that you have read the dumbest post like poor lilith’s theory that the McCanns travelled to Portugal with an already dead Madeleine in tow…”
You come here to look for the most insignificant points, and it is not surprising that you find them, and dwell upon them. However, the SIGNIFICANT point of Lilith’s posts is NOT the minute particulars of her theory, but rather the basic observations upon which she adds her speculation.
It does indeed seem possible that Madeleine did NOT have this eye condition, or that conversely to Lilith’s explanation, some of the earlier photos presented to the public as Madeleine (those with normal eyes, or right eye not visible) are NOT Madeleine. That would mean there are even fewer photos of Madeleine available than previously thought.
This gives yet another reason to press the McCanns to make public the entire medical history of Madeleine.
As for the idea that O’Brien’s child was substituting for Madeleine, that’s possible but has some difficulties which Peter O and others quickly pointed out. Unfortunately, posters like Alexis and Dora have trouble making this distinction between improbable (but possible) speculative explanations, and the significant observations and puzzling facts that gave rise to the speculations.

For Kris:
Bending the Rules
There is a saying ‘that in Britain everything is legal unless the law prohibits it.’
Given that there is a law against most things, it becomes a question of looking for the loopholes to freedom.
I can’t help thinking there must be some sort of law against the newspapers and media giving the phone number for the McCann’s hotline. For one thing anyone ringing it is charged @50p (0.85 Euros - at current exchange rates @59p) a minute. And secondly the matters being reported relate to an ongoing criminal investigation, of which the British police are active members.

weird why did it change
November 7th, 2007 at 7:57 am
Sniffer dogs have to have a lead on a person to be able to smell them, that’s what I believe. This is why the police give a dog a person’s clothing to smell first, then off they go looking. If they found
the same odor on KM, well, that is that. It can be noone else’s.
November 7th, 2007 at 7:57 am
Yes its me brandon flowers

I have often wondered who these 6 bodies were and how they died on one day a week in the couple of weeks before the holiday
Also
regarding cuddlecat the ” surgery gonk”
I have looked after over 20 babies in the past with all kinds of comfort objects
so why kate had cuddlecat at work?
there was more than one, she kept the spare in her bag!
probably the one maddie had on her at the time of death also
freshly cleaned cuddlecat came out after cops took tests
November 7th, 2007 at 7:38 am
there have been some pretty good hypotheses presented as to how madeleine might have died and her body disposed of. i haven’t seen any similar ones supporting an abduction as yet so i am keen to pursue the alternatives .
i am trying to get my head around the time lines. i think we can assume they are reasonably elastic from an interpretation point of view. ie no two watches at same time, possibly some people not wearing watches on holiday and having to make best guesses regarding times /durartions. the following posts have been helpful.

the mirror blog http://forums.mirror.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=622221
if the cadaver dogs did find the scent of MM’s death on KM, and the scent takes around two hours to manifest itself, then you would think the time of death was around 6:00 pm or earlier. by all acounts KM left for the tapas bar around 8:00 pm and supposedly did not come into contact with MM again. IMHO, most folks i know try and go on holiday with clean clothes so i would be surprised if KM’s clothes were scented from coming into contact with 6 dead people immediately before going on holiday. presumably the existence of these corpses and what clothes were worn at the time KM inspected them could be verified. if verified, this would provide a valid reason for the scent being present. if not, then there has to be an alternative source of the scent.
anyone else have a view on this?

I wonder if Sir Richard Brantson will want his money back and others who have given so much.
Prince Charles was supporting them, and still is, how can he have any say in public affairs such as this. He may get egg on his face.

November 7th, 2007 at 6:55 am
Yeah he’s much more cheery thanks. It must have been worrying him previously but never mentioned it. I can see the difference in his behaviour, we had a right old laugh today watching dumb clips on youtube, eating chocolate and even went out shooting some basketball. He’s got to go back in at some point to be opened up again but the surgeons are the best in the UK so there’s every hope it will all be rectified fully. Thanks for asking. I’m up at night’s recently carrying over from when he was in hospital, it ruined my sleep patterns worrying about it all. Maybe I will stay up all day tomorrow and go to bed like a normal person friday!- In the meantime, there’s tea and wine to get through!!
November 7th, 2007 at 6:46 am

November 7th, 2007 at 6:37 am
They’re (tiredness is showing now) on the road to nowhere.
November 7th, 2007 at 6:36 am
Oh, regarding the VW… I haven’t got a clue. There on the road to nowhere, I hope they enjoy the ride. They probably bought it from the fund collected by children in schools, elderly people’s pensions, and ordinary working families struggling to make ends meet. I’m sure they will all be overjoyed to see that no stone is being left unturned in lounging around, poncing from people’s good will. Madeleine? Madeleine who?
