Freddie Starr Gooses Samantha Fox On Wife Swap
FOR some years, Anorak has been wondering as to the whereabouts of Freddie Starr.
Fears abounded that Mr Starr was languishing in an Austrian jail, charged and found guilty of mentioning the war and glorifying in Hitler as he toured with the act that made him a stalwart of ITV’s Who Do You Do? through so much of the 1970s.
One of Starr’s escapades was goose-stepping up and down London’s Oxford Street dressed as Hitler, hailing taxis and demanding to be taken to Poland. Did he try to rescale the comedy heights in Vienna?
Happily, it can be revealed that Freddie is at large and soon to appear on the TV show Wife Swap. Freddie will swap ‘wives’ with Sam Fox, the 1980s topless model, who lives with Myra Stratton.
Freddie’s wife is one Donna, who is 27 years his junior. Freddie is 64, making Donna a sprightly 37, a mere nipper when Freddie was doing Hitler.
Anyone keen to discover if Donna actually thinks Starr is Hitler should tune into the show…

I havent seen the show yet, i am hoping I can see it tonight, I have always loved freddie starr, but I also have always known, that all comedians are miserable in real life, you simply can,t be that funny all the time, we put him on the pedestal, and now we want to push him off, we have a habbit of doing that don’t we, lets be honest, donna married him twice, she had kids and toook them to live with him, if she felt so bad about it why did she do it twice? could money have anything to do with it? nice life? I hope I dont change my mind after I watch the show, because the guy became famous because he is outrageous, because he is who he is, maybe his material is the same as it was, but hes still getting paid to perform, so who is the loser here? he’s still doing ok thank you, and what ever he does, I loved him years ago, and that will not change, he deserves to be famous, marry an outrageous man twice after living in the same house, then surely you know what to expect from him, maybe donna is at fault here indulging freddie in his attitude to home life???

Freddie Starr amazes me, he has been doing the same “comic” material since the 70s. The speeded up song routine, Vincent. His Hitler stuff, same old same old. And he is not funny. Massive gaps in between his lines.
I saw him live once, waste of 45 minutes that was, (yeah 45 minutes)

I had the great misfortune to work with Freddie Starr for a summer season in Great Yarmouth in the 1980s. I remember him as a vile, arrogant, selfish, and cruel person with a nasty valium dependency. Everyone around him hated him. At least back then he could make people laugh but he’s not even funny any more. He has no respect for anyone or himself and I feel really sorry for his family. Freddie - you are and always have been a worthless bag of shit!

I saw funnyman freddie starr on the telly last night. What a knob. I had no idea he was such a lazy, rude, arrogant arsewipe. And he hasn’t gone a bit loopy or weird he’s just an idle wanker. His wife deserves a medal for putting up with such a waste of space. Freddie - you’re a tosser!

i have just got home after an 18 hour round trip. entertaining isn’t what it’s made out to be. Unlike freddie starr though, i will get up in the morning and take my kids to school. (and i havn’t come home with £20000 in my pocket. i work f ing hard but no way will i make demands on my wife as if i have just earnd my right to do sod all around the house. I have to get up and fix gear, do the book work, work on new material and do it all again tomorrow. Freddie you don’t know when you have got it good. your wife is to good for you. i’ll take her on and show her what it is like to be respected and not used. without her you would be out of work.

I was totally stunned by the behaviour of Freddie Starr. He was Mr Misery throughout. His attitude was it’s his house and he can do and say what he likes in it. I could understand this point of view if he lived alone, but married with kids he should show an example. Sorry Mr Starr you’re not funny anymore. £20,000 a night means nothing. You’re a dwarf of a man who thinks he’s wonderful. I’m sure a lot of fans will be disgusted. Enough said!

How anyone can condone Freddie’s behaviour is beyond belief. He should try working 6 day weeks for 52 weeks a year to bring in £20k and see what stress is really like! He is a dinosaur of a man and should crawl back into the cave he came out of. By the way did anyone see the look of fear in his stepsons eyes when he was around???
Congratulations to Ms Fox who shone throughout. Poor Donna. How long will this marriage last after this episode?

Well Richie you’re probably right - I too may have lost the plot - but lets be sensible here…..
How many top entertainers go a bit loopy? Tons and tons…..Tommy Cooper - Benny Hill - Jacko - Britney - George Micheal - and have you seen Barry Humfries off stage with his glaring wild stare…….So people really need to appreciate the mental pressure and problems assosiated with being a star performer……trying to as they say ’switch off’ is not just a matter of walking off stage it sometimes takes a day or two.
If like Ken Dodd or the late great Bob Monkhouse you are always thinking about comedy and gags…..you live your life nearly always on stage and can’t let go.
Finally we’re talking here about all walks of life….. severe mental stress and pressure changes people……and some cope better than others . . . . Cheers!

Earning £20,000+ per night doesn’t give anyone the right to treat others like shit.
His missus deserves a meddle.
I am a proud scouser but Freddie did absolutely nothing to promote either himself or the ‘pool last night. I am with the others - if he gets any more airtime I’ll be switching channels.
The other three participants in the programme shone whilst Freddie faded even more into his assured obscurity.

I was so looking forward to seeing freddie starr on wife swap as he is a legend, I thought he would have taken the opportunity to show all his fans what a great entertainer he is and a great family man but he showed all what he really is , Disrespectful to women, A self centred man who obviously could not manage his career on his own and if his poor wife ever left him I dont think we would hear much of him at all, I could not believe my ears when I heard him whistle to his son like he was a pet dog.
I have seen him twice at the grand theatre in Lancaster. The first time was a real treat but second time in 2007, I thought he seemed to be loosing the plot a bit. He could still be a great legend but he needs to prove he can still do it and gain respect from his many fans.

I think Sam Fox was a saint to not bash him over the head with a frying pan - it might have been the first time he’d ever seen one.

I was disgusted watching Freddie Starr on Celebtrity Wife Swap last night. What a self centred fat slob he is.
I was also incensed to see him smoking indoors with 3 children in the vicinity. In this day and age of Smoking being banned in the workplace I was suprised that it was allowed. There were people “working” on this show e.g. Samantha Fox, cameramen etc.

Presumably Freddie knew when he entered an Agreement with the Ch. 4 programme makers of Celebrity Wife Swap exactly what he was letting himself in for.
If only he had been good natured and gracious, it could have done wonders for his flagging career. By his pathetic and indifferent attitude during the show, he has merely shot himself in the foot and done himself no good at all.

My name is Rick, I do a freddie starr impression in my show.(as he used to be) I have met him twice and think he is the most miserable git you could encounter. we (the public) put him where he is today and he has abused his roll. Over the years i have spent money on dvds and tickets to his shows, and admired him as an entertainer. His live shows are now crap . He does’nt seem to care anymore, all he now want’s to do is take the cash and run. I have

We watched Celebrity Wife Swap last night and thought all the women were great. As for Freddie? Poor little lad has had his day and he ain’t funy. Just a little bully, ” I want Chinese for din dins, don’t we all kids?” Nah, if I see him again I will switch off. Donna is far too good for him but the way he smokes and with his waistline he’s heading for a heart attack. Don’t like the man after watching the programme, sorry.

i have just watched celebrity wife swap where freddie starr and sam fox sent a week together.
i used to be a fan of this man’s comedy, but i will never watch or purchase any of his work again, as he is nothing but a lazy, overweight, arrogant, small minded, selfish prick!
