i can tolerate the christians who can keep their mouth shut and not shove their religion down peoples throats. it’s the heartless, low life ones like this and their supporters i want to beat the living shit out of. i am doing a high school project on violence against gays and lesbians, while i am openly bisexual myself, i came across this. thanks for this, you make my essay all the more colorful.

To Heath’s family and friends I am so sorry that these people are saying this about such a wonderful man.
No one is this world has a right to be judge or jury, these people have not one clue about Heath. For us that only knew him from afar we are heart broken for him and for you. And for the people who have said the most terrible things about him, I feel pity for them, they are beneath hell; what ever hell maybe.
Grieve your son/brother/friend and be sure that in heaven Heath is well and is loving you as much as he ever did.

Heath was a beautiful kind hearted and loving man. Im deeply saddened at his death and even more so that these so-called christians are planning to picket it. Who do they think they are. It beggers belief. This has nothing to do with the bible god or religion…is just a way of creating hatred. They discust me.
My thoughts go out to Heath’s family and those who loved him. He will always have a special place in my heart.

Check the WBC’s website, their arguments are theologically sound; it’s the Bible that is the perversion here.
It breeds intolerance and ignorance of this kind. What we need is a good dose of common sense and rational thinking to reject these harmful dogmatic Bible quotes. Clearly, we need the Bible as a morality guide, like we need a nail in the head.
Stop defending Christianity and see it for what it really is. For humanities sake.

While it is true that God hates homosexuality (no need to quote all the verses, it’s been done), only God and each individual person knows what that person’s relationship is with our Lord. It is not our place to judge anyone - only God’s.
God has as much hatred for lies and the twisting of His word as he does for homosexuality.
And God tells us not to have hatred in our hearts, not even for our enemies. Even if this “church” feels he was an enemy (and there is really only one true enemy) we are to pray for him and his soul not condem it.
It is one of our enemies greatest tricks, to use God’s word to twist things and to use “church’s” to anger and drive others away from God.
This is NOT the view of those who truely know Christ.
I was so saddened to learn of Heath Ledger’s passing. My heart aches for those who loved him and for his daughter who will not have his living presence in her life. I pray for peace and comfort for his family and for those who loved him. I also pray that our media who are so intrusive in today’s time are convicted to give them all peace.

Everyone knows not to take the Old Testament too seriously. How dare WBC be so callous to involve themselves in Heath Ledger’s family’s grief? 1 John 4:7,8 Dear friends, let us love one another for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. What is this church’s obsession with the hatred of homosexuality? My grandmother always said people who behave like that pinch the cat in the dark (hey she was Dutch, I’m sure most people understand what that means). I feel awful for the Ledger family. I pray they are strong enough to deal with everything. Heath Ledger was a brilliant actor, it’s a terrible tragedy he died so young.

How rediculious that a “church” can not see the difference between what is real and fiction. Heath was only acting in Broke Back Mountain, it has no reflection of his real life, nor does it damn him to an eternity in hell.
I can not belive that the world and church are so judgmental. I was thought to belive that God has maid no judgment and will have compasion to all living things.
To this church: find a new cause, or you will be damned to hell for eternity for your misrepresentation of God’s work “the Bible”, and for your judgments of an inncoent human being.

Well, after reading about the Phelps, their “Church” (I use the term loosely, you understand?) and their unrelenting hate, I have come to the unequivocal conclusion, that these people have misinterpreted the Bible, obviously have a deeply repressed fear of their own homosexual tendencies and have absolutely no understanding whatsoever regarding The Creator’s Divine works, and Universal Compassion for all living things. It appears they are not as close to God as they would like to think.
To Heath’s family and friends, take heart from all of us who loved his work and thought he was a beautiful human Being. May the Angels guide him swiftly home. x

My fellow Ambrosians.
It is with a heavy heart, and a rumbling spleen, that I have to report that my other daddy, the good lord Frog himself, is very put out by the position held by the Church of Marlboro. Daddy sent me back down to Earth on a long-term working visa to edjuc… edchuk… ejudicate some of his children in how to behave towards their jello man.
People… Lighten up. Daddy made y’all in his own image, and even he loves each and every one the same be they straight, grey or bisectional, but some of his flock have gone a bit off the rails. Now I ain’t one fur gossip, but I overheard daddy talking to this tall guy with horns and all, and apparently he’s reservin’ places for y’all in some place called El Fire, I’m guessin’ it’s somewhere in Mexico… Best pack t-shirts and shorts though, cuz I’ve bin told that “It’s hotter in El” but I can’t find the place on the Weather Channel so I’ll have to take their word fur it.
Apparently they have some strict immigration laws there too, once you’re in, that’s it, you have to stay for a Ternity, now I’m not sure how long that is but I think it’s some kind of introductory period to let you acclimatise to the heat. Their economy is based around paint and sulphuring, which might explain why all the buildin’s are yellur.
Anyways, your places are booked and waitin’, but I’d just like to suggest that you take a lot of strong sunblock, as I’ve been told that it’s very likely that you’ll burn in El, so just play it safe and try to keep out of the sun during the middle of the day.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some thinkin’ to do, I’ve got some reporter here asking me what it’s like to be in office, damn fool can’t get it through his thick skull that we’re still in my kitchen. Oh well, that’s a state edgic… heduca… learnin’ for ya.

You now it’s really quite scary reading all these comments. If I was a member of the Phelps clan or groupie or whatever you call yourselves I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night. I struggle to sleep at night if I’ve have an argument with my husband or I’ve shout at my kids. With all the hate you people have inside for all kinds of people (you should look at there website, it’s quite shocking) you people will never rest in peace. Because in life or death your so called work will never be done. What an awful thought! I wonder what kind of up bringing you had as a child Mr Phelps? What kind of up bringing did your children have? The sad thing is when Mr Phelps finally leave us there will be another Phelps more then willing to step into his shoes. God help us all then. I am absolutely speechless - I knew there were stupid, sick and depraved people out there but this takes the cake! It was a movie role for gods sake and one of the most beautifully crafted and emotionally charged movies I have ever seen - if only these idiots could step back from their self righteous, bigoted and un educated stupid little lives and look at the bigger picture - it’s not about sexual preference - it’s about pure love - isn’t that what God is about?! Heath was a brilliant young man and the world is a much lesser place without him and it just sickens me that with all the atrocities that are perpetrated in the world today that there are still people out there who masquerade as Christians only to openly hurt and condemn the innocent - I hope Heath’s family never learn of what these sicko’s are writing about their Heath and that they are allowed the decency and grace of burying him in peace.

I think all this capper is preposterous. Leave the poor family in peace; if it was one of my family members I don’t know what I’d do to the people picketing outside the funeral but it would be a very wild and violent reaction.
If the police or local authorities are aware of this and they have any sense they would make certain none of these nutters get anywhere near the funeral.
There’s totally no need for their involvement there and the basis of there picket is ridiculous.
Surely if there was a god how can these idiots justify their actions to the almighty, or indeed Heath’s family for that matter.

How can people go to someones funeral and picket against a character they played in a movie? That’s just wrong and unforgivable. It angers me so much that people can do such a thing at a time when a family are grieving for a loved one they have lost.
How would you feel about us picketing at your funeral Fred Phelps and others?
This is a time when Heath’s family and friends need to be left alone to grieve the loss of their son, brother, father and friend.
