My DNA Test, Cancer, Drug Crazed, Granny Lap Dancer Cancer Hell: Trisha Goddard Speaks Out
“TRISHA,” says the Mirror’s front-page headline. “This is my two fingers to cancer.”
Says the Scotsman on its frontpage: “Lorry protest in London, children scavenging in Asia, riots in Indonesia – the world wakes up to the oil crisis.”
Well, not the whole world, because the Mirror readers are waking up to TV bear baiting host Trisha Goddard’s new blonde afro.
Says Trisha: “The thought of losing my hair through the chemotherapy is so scary, but this is my own way of sticking two fingers up at the situation I find myself in.”
Trisha first said these words to Hello! magazine, but it is the Mirror which has turned a single line into an entire production.
Trisha, doyenne of TV shows that centre on things like “My teen is wrecking the house”; “Mum, please stop lap dancing” and “My DNA love cheat urine test hell”, should be proud…

I am one year older than Trisha, a single mother of two children and have a lovely grandaughter. Last year May I too was told I had breast cancer and had no choice but to have the whole breast remove. July 2007, had the operation and reconstruction using the muscles from my stomarch. To some people who have no clue how a cancer patient feels and the sudden changes in their lives. My job is very busy and also working with the public, losing my hair through chemotheraphy, I prepared myself for that but having to stay at home for 6 months of the treatment was depressing.
I alway worked , but my financial problems caused by having time off work to fight cancer is more critical than my illness make me feel. I worked hard contributed to the government system and it is an insult filling large numbers of forms, then told the government penalise you for owning your own home by saying you must live on £59 per week and are only intitled to the interest only help to your mortgage.
I feel there should be a law to help people who are terminal and if the have contributed to the system, should automatically get help. I have not had time to come to terms with what cancer had done to my body and me as a person, because I am struggling each day to servive financally. At present I feel very depressed not able to cope and meet the everyday financal demands. If you know of any organisation who can give me any advise about coping please help?
“I always watch trisha’s show and when I learn’t of her also having breast cancer, my taughts were she is a strong woman and if she fighting so can I”.
