Madeleine McCann: An Exclusive Warning
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
AFTER months of the McCanns story is the media growing cynical?
This the headline in today’s Mirror:
McCanns’ new Euro MPs plea - EXCLUSIVE WARNING
Look out - here they come…
Kate and Gerry McCann will go back to the European Parliament next week in a last-ditch effort to persuade MEPs to back their missing child alert system.
The couple visited Strasbourg in April and begged for support for a scheme that would automatically alert police in all EU states as soon as a child goes missing.
But only a quarter of MEPs have signed up so far - and they need at least half of the Parliament’s 785 members if it is to become law.
And they need the signatures by the end of the month.
The McCann’s spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “We remain confident we will get them. It’s normal for MEPs to wait until the last minute to.”
As they don’t say in Ireland: “Let’s hear it for the EU”…

It has gone on for what over a century and people still go to the bullring. Spain also does not do anything about the throwing of goats from tops of buildings. I stand to be corrected on this. I do think a lot has been done to stop bullfighting, but it just shows the mentality of the bullfighters. A very cruel sport indeed.

I wonder who is looking after the twins whilst the couple are away?

I must agree with Jo about the suffering that catholics have inflicted on the world.
Lots of religions have done likewise, so I am no singling out catholics.
But they are really brainwashed by the rituals, IMO.
But why in the world would anyone choose to follow any corrupt religion?
Wake up!
Use the brains you were endowed with by mother nature, not a monolithic mythic god.

Gandolf, what about the drugged and tortured animal?
Handlers weaken the bull for days the bullfight
They put laxative in their food and heavy sand bag on their backs
They file his horns down to the tender and drug him
In the ring, they drive lances into his back and the muscles of his neck so he cant lift his head.
By the time, the matador appears, the bull is weak from loss of blood and dizzy from being chased in circles
The horses used in bulfights are old and usually drugged.
Wet newspaper is stuffed in their ears and very often their vocal cords are cut, so the audience will not hear their cries. They wear long blankets to hide their insides which spill out when they are gored and disemboweled

Jo, that is horrendous! I’m surprised the Animal Activitists, who are worldwide, have not caused quite an uproar or brought it to all’s attention of the horrid inhumane treatment!
Apart from the fact that almost none of the above is true. This is a combination of half truth and lies form the antis, combined with some historical details messed up by being mixed with modern facts.
Almost all the above is nonsense. If yo uwant the fact I can give them/ I am an aficionado of the corrida, and would not be if any of the above were fact.

I hadn’t realised until recently that children grow while they are asleep; I knew that tissue repair takes place during sleep, because my doctors have been going on about it for as long as I can remember, but the growth bit was unknown to me. Just think; I might have been as tall and elegant as my mother , had I managed a bit more kip as a child
This is apparently one of the reasons doctors will prescribe sedation for insomniac children, otherwise the children won’t just be very cross children, they’ll be very short, very cross children…
————————————————————————–
That is basically why we all need sleep, is to repair our bodies, and minds come to that, and why do you think one of the worst tortures is sleep-deprivation ??? Thinking about “very short, very cross children” have you noticed how most short people are also very snarly ??!! ………apologies to any short people on here who are the very epitome of laid-backness and no slur on Short People either !!

Hi Ann, we have a child in school who has ADHD and has been prescribed several drugs in order for his parents and siblings to be able to lead a semi normal life and him too. He is able to sit in class now and take part in activities. I don’t consider his parents bad or uncaring but think of him as being lucky in having good parents who were concerned enough to look for help for him. I agree with your actions regarding your situation and your child was lucky you cared enough to seek help.
==================================================
At last…the voice of experience and sanity !! What you have to remember is that what was happening to us was way before the days when ADHD was recognised and accepted, and children so affected were just labelled “naughty” or “disruptive”. You have seen at first hand the results of the proper diagnosis and care of such a child but it wasn’t until Resident Grandson came to live with us and we realised we had our hands full, that we were able to get the proper diagnosis and help. The only thing I wouldn’t do was put him on Ritalin which is a hard drug and the long-term effects are not good so we dealt with it through, diet and homeopathy, to good effect as he left school with nine GCSEs, has been a year in College, leaving with Distinctions and has now secured an Apprenticeship with a local firm and nobody is more gobsmacked than us !!!
What certain people don’t realise is that I had four other children who were “normal”, whatever you care to classify that as, and all have done well for themselves but there’s always a “Black Sheep”………actually, do you know, that is correct ?? We kept sheep for sixteen years and every year at lambing you would get one black lamb at least !!!! ….don’t ask me why ….

Ann, don’t mistake this poster to be Rasputin, Rasputin is a much nicer person ( well our one is)###########
Thanks for clearing that one up June, actually - upon reflection, Rasputin is only a bit sarcastic at times, the “other party” has some issues and problems and I promise never to react to him/her/it again

ok team.
sorry
please jo, stop with the graphic descriptions of bull fights and the horses.
as an animal lover, with 11 horses I am aware of the horrible lives some of these most beautiful creatures have.
I also campaign to stop the cruelty to them.
Can we just - please - not have it on an Madeleine McCann site?
( I.m not wimping out - but please ………..)

I wish you all the best care the NHS can provide you and a swift recovery. In the meantime a link to your brains and knowledge would be most helpful, or even a download off the Matrix if possible. Good to see the debates continue on the MM threads
I’m enjoying the other threads more at the moment, although they can be lonely at times. (I don’t even bother to mention when I am first

Jo, I like you and think you are a good person and do lots of good work. You stand up and fight for what you believe in and are passionate about the rights of children who often have no voice to fight for themselves and I admire you for that. I am curious though as to why you are so bitter against the Catholic Church. Is it because of the McCanns hiding behind it or have you had a personal experience with the Church or just disagree with all it stands for?

The poor beasts have no choice in the matter. Out of sight of the punters they are herded into ever narrowing pens made of scaffolding pipes. When they can go no further a gate is dropped behind them. The beasts can not move forwards, backwards or sidewards. While they are trapped so, a leather strap is tied tight round their goolies. Some gormless git then climbs the scaffolding ‘fence’ and drops down on the beasts back. At which point the gate at the front of the pen is lifted, allowing the animal to escape into the arena. The beasts probably don’t give a f*ck about the git on their back. It isn’t him they are trying to dislodge - it’s the strap round their balls.
And some people call this entertainment !!!

Many, many years ago I worked as a rodeo roustabout in Canada. Ever wondered about those horses/bulls trying to dislodge the ‘cowboy’ on their back. Well I would buck a lot too if some b*stard had tied a tight leather strap round my goolies before loosing me in the arena with some prat sat on my back !!!!

When I am asked to be “kind” as opposed to thinking, I tend to think there is something fishy to be concealed. I am a grown up, not a child, and I don’t believe in naivety for grown ups. I see it as laziness of the mind, avoidance of reality, and lack of concern for one’s responsabilities.

To resume : immaturity in a so called adult is a punishement
