Euro 2008: Colin Kazim-Richards

I’m English, without a doubt. I will never ever say I’m not English. English born and bred. I’m Turkish thoughâ

Too right he is! He seems to have more talent than some of the England regulars.
I think that not getting to the finals is the best thing to happen to the FA’s England setup for a long time. I just hope that they’re up to the task of sorting things out as a result of this dismal failure to qualify. …(but I’m not off to the bookies to put a wad of cash on that!).
For too long England have lived on the back of their single triumph at the world cup in ‘66. Press and deluded fan expectations have far outstripped the ability of the players, the managers and the administrative organisation ever since.

Turkey are in the Euro 2008 finals and England are not. Kazim is their gain…

Funny that the Turks call him Kazim-Kazim.
Not a hint of a Colin or even a Richards.
More Istanbul than Walthamstow then….
All’s fair in love, war and finding a country to play for. If Kevin Pieterson is English after all, and that cockinee TV pundit Andy Townsend could be captain of Eire, then I suppose it’s alright.
Just don’t get me started on the unholy panic to get Zola Budd and Graeme Hick to be pronounced ‘English’.
