WITH global warming sacked, we are no longer obliged to recycle:
With the collapse of the China market for our rubbish, The Sunday Telegraph is telling us that Hertfordshire county council has withdrawn a scheme that allowed residents to recycle everyday items like yoghurt pots, margarine tubs and other types of plastic packaging.
But how will OMA finish his robot?
It has now become uneconomical to do so. The items will now go into landfill sites and the council has asked residents to avoid buying products with too much plastic packaging.

Regardless of the economic situation the fact of the matter is recycling targets will still have to be achieved in the future and what we are seeing at the moment can be construde as a temporary blip in the overall plan. The company I work for have recently brought out a range of recycling bins for the recycling of cans / Glass / Plastic and Paper. The bins are colour coded to correspond to the latest European legislation with regards to recycling. ***edit***

Councils are on to a good thing charging us Council Tax & expecting us to recycle
the rubbish! The area we are in has been having only one ordinary rubbish collection every other week & one recycling collection every other week for
last 6 years to my knowledge i .e one week recycling one week rubbish

CP have a good thing going now, pink bags picked up fortnightly filled with paper, cardboard, plastic bottles etc and cans, a separate bottle collection and weekly pick up of ordinary household rubbish, and a fortnightly one of garden waste.
With the credit crunch though perhaps food companies will cut back on packaging to cut down costs?
