Over-Limit Woman Steals Mobility Scooter And Drives Home
AMANDA Leaff, 4 is before the Beak. She is charged with removing a scooter - top speed 2mph - from a supermarket car park at Chedderton, near Oldham, and attmepting to drive it to her home.
It is a journey of 10 miles. Police experts calculate that it would have taken her four hours to complete the journey.
After a mere two-and-a-half miles, she was spotted by a police officer.
Says her brief:
“It was a surprise she got as far as she did. It was a risk to herself and other road users.”
She is banned her from driving for 20 months.
