Federico Macheda: a new Man Utd starlet is born
REMEMBER the name Federico Macheda – you will probably be hearing it a lot more in the next few seasons.
On his first-team debut for Manchester United, Macheda, 17, scored a quite stunning winner to help his side sink Aston Villa, 3-2 at Old Trafford. The result lifts the reigning Premier League champions above Liverpool in the table – and United still have a game in hand.
United signed Machedo when he was 16, from Lazio’s youth academy. He’s big for his age, strong and, based on today’s stunning goal, he has a superb eye for goal. He’s also supremely self-confident for a 17-year-old. Perhaps United won’t even need to hang on to Cristiano Ronaldo now.
Watch Macheda’s goal below:
Not bad for a teenage debutant, eh.
