MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann: Madeleine McCann evoked Qatar…
IN “Woman fights for son taken by Sharia court”, the Telegraph reports on British mother Rebecca Jones’ fight “to win back her son Adam, 10, after a Sharia court in Qatar awarded custody of the boy to her dead ex-husband’s family.”
The use of the word “Sharia” seems unnecessary given that Qatar is an Arab emirate stuck on Saudi Arabia. It’s news of the tautological.
But the part of this story of interest to you Anorak readers is how Madeleine McCann appears in the tale of a woman who married and divorced a local man who later died:
Mrs Jones said that during the visit, her son had appeared physically well, but emotionally distraught.
“He was crying the whole time and clinging to me, it broke my heart,” she said. “I said to him that we have a big problem because he’s not at home, and I have been tricked. He asked if he was like Madeleine McCann.
That question to the Daily Express.
Madeleine McCann: how the disappearance of a innocent child became the world’s favourite scare story to terrify the children with.
