Stolen World Cup Penguin Back In Dublin Zoo

by | 9th, July 2010

KELLI, the stole penguin , is back home. No, she’s not in the ice of Antarctica. Kelli, a 10 year-old penguin, has been returned to Dublin Zoo having earlier been found on the street in Dublin.

It was first believed she was heading to make a bet on Holland to win the World Cup, following a tip from a mystic anchovy called Gail.

But now we know the female penguin was kidnapped by a gang of men at about 8am from the Phoenix Park and discovered several hours later a few miles away in the north inner city. It is believe the men broke in to the zoo before carrying the penguin out and making off in a taxi. The penguin is a Humboldt, a small breed native to parts of South America, mainly Chile. But with her thick feathers and nightly tot of rum she’s not too cold (geddit?!)
