Simon Kelner’s i Newspaper Ignores The Royal Wedding – All Over Page 3

SIMON Kelner’s i newspaper continues to burnish its anti-celebs mitre with an editor’s letter about the rights and wrongs of reporting on the Royal wedding. The letter is on page 3.

In it, Kelner talks of the paper’s Facebook poll in which respondents had voted by a factor of two to one against i featuring any coverage of Prince William and Catherine Middleton’s wedding.

On Page 3, the editor uses his address to say that their views have been taken on board.

At the end of his piece about not writing about the Royal Wedding, Kelner writes:

“And we’ll always keep a sense of perspective in our coverage given the events of really global significance happening elsewhere.”

All very high-minded and noble.

And after the front-page news on the South Park musical and The ‘Audrey’ being the fashion world’s next “iconic” dress, and amid news of Charlie Sheen’s Torpedo of Truth, the Pet Shop Boys supporting Take That, Sir Elton John wearing a wig on Saturday Night Live and Snoop Dogg rejecting the chance to be on the X Factor, you can read that dogs are catching up with cats in popularity.

Yeah – some of those dogs may be corgis…
