LADY Gaga is pilloried for being Madonna’s cameal – a popstar formed by committee. But the criticism is unfair: Lady Gaga has also adopted the looks of Kylie Minogue, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Grace Jones and Britney Spears. It is all done with a massive sense of self-awareness, of course. Gaga would not more pass off an old look as her own as she would bash out a Euro pop number entitled Alejandro that sounds a lot like an Ace Of Base track, which in turn was not overly different to Aswad’s Don’t Turn Around…

manny, when you grow up and arent a 16 year old lady gaga fanboy anymore, you’ll realize exactly why everybody keeps calling her a copycat and unoriginal. i cant blame you for thinking that she is original though. like most of her fans, your still in juniour high or high school and werent even born when the original artists that she rips off were in their prime.everybody that WAS around then (like myself) know that gaga desperately wants to be the new madonna and has copied and imitated her (and others) since DAY ONE! when your a big boy, you’ll understand this!

they all copy each other eventually, Manny – it’s just that Madonna has been around longer than any of the others and there’s only so much you can do with variations on sexy and weird….
