Victim hired burglar to repair wall he’d broken in through

MICHAEL Patterson, 43, used his expertise as a brick layer to remove bricks from shop walls and crawl through the gap to commit burglary. When Patterson hit the Nina Store on Stockport Road, Levenshulme, he nicked cash and a laptop. He then came back and offered store owner Ezekiel Sagary, 71, the option of repairing the wall.

Mr Sagary accepted. He paid Patterson  £35 to repair the hole. How good a job did Patterson do? Not
