Children teach Nobody about global warming and dying polar bears

TO southern Ontario, where young scholars are helping polar bears by getting cold:

Four students from Kenollie Public School jumped into the frigid pond behind the Port Credit Yacht Club on Sunday to raise awareness about the plight of polar bears in the face of global warming.

Mary-Margaret Quennell, the mother of one of the boys tells the local paper:

Quennell said the boys took an assignment from school to another level – they were supposed to teach a stuffed toy named Nobody about something and they chose to raise awareness about the effects of global warming.

“They’re teaching Nobody about the environment and how global warming is affecting it for our polar bears,” said Quennell. “But they didn’t have to jump into the water, that was to raise awareness.”

The boys read a mission statement on the bank of the pond before dashing into the cold water with Nobody in hand.

“It wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be,” said Justin afterwards with a towel wrapped around his body. “It was warmer than I expected.”

Parodists, as you were…
