Manchester United Transfer Balls: Angel di Maria ‘agrees’ PSG deal and Edison Cavani ‘swap’
Transfer Balls: Manchester United are looking to sell Angel Di Maria.
The Times says Paris Saint-Germain will bid £45m for the Argentina winger who hates living in Manchester.
That’s far less than the British record £59.7 million fee United paid Real Madrid for Di Maria last summer.
PSG are reportedly ready to match Di Maria’s £230,000-a-week wages at United. But they are adamant that Edison Cavani will not form part of any deal.
Or as ESPN puts it: “Man United swap Angel Di Maria to PSG for Edinson Cavani.”
Bayern Munich are also said to be looking at bidding for Di Maria.
The Telegraph says “Manchester City considered an audacious move for Manchester United winger Angel di Maria before focusing their efforts on the capture of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool.”
But even with Di Maria’s Argentine team-mates Sergio Aguero, Martin Demichelis and Pablo Zabaleta on Man City’s books, “sources close to Di Maria made it clear, though, that the unhappiness of the player’s wife in England ensured that a move back to the continent would be the only acceptable option for the 27-year-old”.
The paper adds that Di Maria’s “first preference is to pursue a return to Real”.
But we’ll end with the Daily Express, which says Di Maria has already left United:
Such are the facts…
