RIP Albert Scanlon: Manchester United, Busby Babes And Munich In Pictures

RIP Albert Scanlon. The Manchester United winger, a ‘Busby Babe’ who survived the Munich air disaster in 1958, died. He was 74. In the disaster, Mr Scanlon’s leg was broken leg and skull fractured. Eight of Mr Scanlon’s Manchester United team-mates and three officials were killed when their plane crashed at Munich Airport. In the 1958/59 season. Albert Scanlon scored 16 goals as United finished runners-up in the first division. The Busby Babes in pictures:
