The Edlington Devil Boys Have An Appeal

by | 5th, May 2010

THE Edlington ‘Devil Boys’, the brothers sentenced to be detained indefinitely – a minimum of five years – for torturing two boys, aged 9 and 11, are to appeal. They want another turn in court, this time at the Court of Appeal in London.

The Lord Chief Justice, Lord Judge, Mr Justice David Clarke and Mr Justice Lloyd Jones will consider all angles and how they came to be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court.

In mitigation, it was revealed that the brothers had a “toxic home life” which involved “routine aggression, violence and chaos“.

As Anorak reader Yampster notes:

I don’t know who is pushing for these early appeals. I can’t see it being the parents as they are described as coming from a ‘toxic’ home environment. Could it be the Official Solicitor doing it on their behalf?

Still, the first one to spot the lurid details of the brothers’ crimes repeated in the press wins.
